The Valley School
The Valley School is Krishnamurti Foundation school, where Fulbrighter Marina Basu works and I very much wanted to visit. Fortunately I was able to stay the night at the Learning Center and take some time to absorb the quiet beauty of the land. It is a special place, no doubt about it, and the school culture was very friendly, welcoming and free. I was asked to do a presentation on the Nature of Science and I had prepared it pretty well and the students had a great time. While I would also like to hang out in regular classes, when you give a large assembly presentation you do get some quick fame and notoriety as you walk around the campus.
After lunch I was asked to present to the younger kids and I wasn’t really prepared for that, I am not used to age group and I would have liked to have done something different.
After that I was to meet the folks at the Study Center to bone up a little on Krishnamurti, but I got distracted by the students doing this bamboo ropes-type course so of course I had to give it a try.
At the end of the day I made it back into town and checked into my hotel so I could do the workshop in the morning the next day.
