Visit Chernobyl and a Syrian Refugee camp

VR is going to also cause a revolution in news reporting. The empathy machine allows you to be immersed in a way that other media cannot replicate.

There is a new language of film for VR being developed rapidly. The viewer is quite vulnerable in the filmmakers vision of the story, it should be done ethically.

I would never imagine visiting Chernobyl and yet I did and I am richer for it. It’s a real place and it’s a powerful story.

Chernobyl is a stand alone app that has game elements to it so strangely I wanted to spend more time in it.

Filming in 360 is tricky and real filmed scenes don’t  give you as much freedom to move within the story. But as a passive viewing experience, it is can be very emotionally involving and artistically inspiring. One of the best curated collections of VR film shorts is on an app called WITHIN, led by visionary filmmaker and  Ted Talk star Chris Milk.

While these films are not HD, I think they are still some of the best educational experiences you can have with a head mounted device. Clouds Over Sidra definitely got tears into the headset for me, again it’s not the same watching a video of someone else watching it in VR, yet we wanted to find a way to give you a tastes of the content. Hope you get to see it the way it’s meant to be seen soon!
